Engagement in public policies - Climate alignment

【 Gamania Group's Net Zero Declaration 】

In 2023, Gamania’s Board of Directors approved the “Net Zero Declaration,” setting the group’s carbon reduction targets for 2050. These include achieving carbon neutrality in Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 2030, and net-zero emissions by 2050. This aligns with national policies, supports low-carbon transitions, and is consistent with the goals of the Paris Agreement. In addition to implementing internal energy-saving and carbon-reduction measures, Gamania stays abreast of the latest climate trends through active participation in climate-related industry associations and organizations.

【 Governance Framework for Public Engagement 】

The evaluation of Gamania’s membership in public and industry associations is agreed upon by the senior executive of each business unit and reported to the president for approval. The “ESG Sustainability Communication Office” is responsible for regularly assessing whether the associations align with the company’s sustainability goals and policies, and reporting to the president.

【Process for Climate-related Lobbying and Industry Association Participation】

We have established a management system for climate-related lobbying activities and industry association participation, covering all operational sites of Gamania. Through clear evaluation and management mechanisms, we ensure that participation in climate-related public affairs aligns with the company’s sustainability and climate change policies and is consistent with the Paris Agreement. We conduct periodic reviews of the trade associations we are involved with, identifying those with a focus on climate change. Through clear monitoring processes, we assess whether the positions and activities of these associations align with the Paris Agreement.

In cases where misalignments are identified, we engage with the associations and work towards ensuring consistency between their climate policies and our own.

【2023 Evaluation Results】

Trade Associations

Gamania is a member of various trade associations, and we closely monitor those that are climate-related. For example:

Name
Assessment
CommonWealth Sustainability (CWS)
This association works across industries, governments, and research institutions to develop carbon reduction platforms and environmental sustainability awards. It encourages public and private sector commitments to keep global warming below 1.5°C by the end of the century, aligned with the Paris Agreement.
The Bankers Association of The Republic Of China
This association actively promotes progress on climate change, including TCFD-related financial disclosures on climate risks and opportunities, and greenhouse gas emissions inventory reporting.

In 2023, there were no significant misalignments between the climate policy positions of the trade associations we are involved with and our own climate change objectives.
